MENTONE SPRINGS HOTEL KICKS-OFF THE HOLIDAY WITH AN OPEN HOUSE AND NEW MENU AT ALICE'S
Guests can register to win a stay at the 128 year- old hotel, lunch for two at Alice's and Mentone Money to spend at the White Elephant Galleries and Antiques

November 27, 2012---Mentone, Alabama--- The Mentone Springs Hotel kicks off Christmas with a Holiday Open House this weekend, an opportunity for guests to enjoy the holiday décor in front a roaring fire, sample a new menu at the hotel's restaurant, and register to win prizes during its open house Sat. Dec 1, and Sun. Dec. 2 from 10-6pm.

Visitors will enjoy the 10 ft. tall live fir tree decorated for a traditional Christmas and other themed trees throughout the house. They will be able to register to win a one-night stay at the hotel, and lunch for two at Alice's Restaurant at the Mentone Springs Hotel.

Registrants will also receive Mentone Money, to use at the White Elephant Galleries and Antiques during the open house. Miss Judy's Tea Room will be open where guest can enjoy "high-tea" fare in the hotel's ballroom for a charge of $8 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. The Rusty Fox will feature football fare and the Alabama/ Georgia game at 4:30 CST for $10 per person.

Alice's restaurant at the Mentone Springs Hotel is open for dinner Fri. and Sat. from 6-9 pm and for lunch Sat. and Sun. 11-2. It was listed in November's Business Alabama Magazine, as one of the restaurants to watch, in its Food for Fun and Profit issue, highlighting the growing culinary scene in Ala. Alice's new dinner menu includes locally sourced savory soups and entrées, ranging in price from a $7appetizer to a $22 entrée.

The hotel recently received a 5-star rating and Talk of the Town Customer Satisfaction Award by Celebration Media U.S. for the second year in a row, recognizing the 128-yeqr-olc Victorian mansion in its Hotel/Travel and Bed & Breakfast category, as best in the region.

"We are looking forward to a fun and festive open house this weekend and showing off the holiday decor and new menu," said general manager Judy Rathel. "Every day is a good day in Mentone, but the Christmas holiday is exceptional."

The Mentone Springs Hotel underwent an upgrade beginning in October 2010 when the new owners purchased the property. They installed high quality bedding and linens, redecorated with a country club meets hunting club feel. The hotel's commercial kitchen was refurbished at that time and a kitchen herb garden was recently installed.
